There are a variety of activities on offer. As part of the programme the team will be working closely with community groups to address key health messages including food and nutrition, physical activity and health and wellbeing. As part of the service the CHN is running an initiative to address the concerns of overweight and obesity in adults.

Our Aims

The aims of the Community Health Network is to promote healthy living and well-being within communities of Merthyr Tydfil.

If you are looking to become physically active or to become more active then I can help you to engage through our numerous activities from:

  • Gentle exercise classes

Healthy Eating

Group sessions are being delivered across the Borough to support and encourage you to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.


Sessions are for one hour over a 12 week period and include:
  • Free weigh in!
  • Help and support
  • Learn about healthy eating
  • Meet people from your community
  • Have Fun!

Well Being

We will be able to give you good friendly support and help you to make positive lifestyle changes.This could be by helping you to Stop Smoking, eating more healthily, getting more exercise or cutting down on your alcohol consumption. We will be able to support you in group sessions, one-to-one counselling or to access management technique therapies.
