Gellideg Community Cafe

People had been saying for a while it was a pity there was no cafe on Gellideg. So when the Fruit and Veg shop closed in 2007, the GFG bought the premises and applied for grants from Merthyr Tydfil Local Authority and the Heads of the Valley Regeneration Scheme, to turn the old shop into a community cafe. The first phase of regeneration finished in September 2008, and Lorraine, Tracy and Alison took up their posts in the kitchen, serving cost effective, healthy snacks and lunch time meals. Already cafe trade has surpassed our expectations.
